The Goulburn Broken Local Government Regional Climate Change Adaptation Plan responds to the challenges of climate change in the Goulburn Broken region. The project consisted of three main stages which included a risk assessment, development of adaptation actions and plan preparation.
During the risk assessment stage, a risk assessment workshop was held with member Councils and relevant stakeholders to consider the impacts of climate change across four areas of Local Government responsibility. These focus areas are:
asset management;
planning and development;
economic development; and
community development.
The Goulburn Broken Local Government Regional Climate Change Adaptation Plan describes how the GMCA and its member Councils can respond to the challenges of climate change. The plan includes prioritised projects and actions for individual member Councils to consider in the development of environment strategies and allows the GMCA to identify potential collaboration opportunities through the Hume Regional Management Forum.
