Greenhouse alliances are partnerships of Local Governments and other organisations responding to climate change through the implementation of various projects. Covering 70 councils and most of Victoria, greenhouse alliances work with their members, community and partners in mitigation and adaptation activity.

The Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance is one of a network of regional greenhouse alliances across Victoria whose origins date back some 20 years. Other alliances include:
